Job Description
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for initiating and leading the tradingactivities of the petroleum products from the refineries and 3rd party supplysources in order to generate maximum profit.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a procurement strategy and policy
Conduct day-to-day activities of petroleum products trading: include: track and monitor world market movements in order to aid decisions on selling and buying for meeting profitability and optimization targets
Source, develop and manage domestic and international supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted product supply.
Ensure company requirements are met in terms of time, lines, cost, quality and specifications
Plan and organise the procurement process and acquiring of products from suppliers
Actively manage and oversee the process of closing out completed orders
Establish and sustain strong relationships with relevant industries parties and counterparties to develop business opportunities within the oil trading arena
Communicate trades of the day to the relevant parties agreeing prices.
Negotiate and review supplier’s quotes, conditions and payment terms within limits of authority.
Interact with relevant departments in the company involved in the trading/commercial activity.
Provide market assessment for development of company's tactical trading strategy in accordance with risk management policies.
Execute hedging strategies and develop analytical reports to assist in taking hedging decisions.
Gather and report competitive intelligence on underlying supply and demand forces impacting assigned region.
Ensure timely and cost effective delivery of shipments.
Perform other duties assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Accounting / Finance / Marketing / Business Disciplines
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in trading and procurement of petroleum products
Full understanding of the global best practices and value chain functioning of the oil & gas sector.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office package
